A Trio of Gardens and Shopping in Mt Eden Village - Hosted by Lynn Huhtala from Finding Flavours (Discovery Tours for Foodies)

This full day tour combines visits to three gardens with a difference along with a little retail therapy and foodie experiences in historic Mt Eden Village.

We start with visits to two unique vegetable gardens: a Garden to Table Trust school garden and the Framework Trust-run Kelmarna Community Garden.

Our second vegetable garden is a large organic community garden in the suburb of Grey Lynn. It is run by the Framework Trust which supports its mental health clients through recovery by therapeutic gardening and healthy living skills.

Our third garden is the beautifully “rehabilitated” old quarry that is now known as Eden Gardens, located in the elegant suburb of Epsom, and adjacent to Government House. You will stop here for lunch a the Bloom Cafe.

Time for some retail therapy! We go to nearby historic Mt Eden Village where there is an interesting mix of shops: dress shop, art gallery, importer of stunning Italian ceramics and glass jewellery, gift shop, several book shops, custom jeweller and even a candy importer!
