Plan Change 13 (Air Quality)

Plan Change 13 (PC13) reviewed and amended the air discharge rules in the Bay of Plenty region, replacing the policy and rules in the previous Regional Air Plan. It sets out the policy and rules which control discharges of contaminants into air in the Bay of Plenty region.

What does PC13 mean for growers?

PC 13 introduced new rules for air discharges, including discharges from the following activities:

  • Agrichemical spraying
  • Fertiliser application
  • Open burning
  • Boilers or solid fuel burners
  • Fumigation (in soil)
