2021 RSE Conference
Registrations are open for the RSE Conference 30 June and 1 July at the Rutherford Hotel in Nelson.
Last year we did not hold an RSE conference because of Covid lockdowns. A lot of changes have happened to how the RSE scheme has been operating due to Covid and we now have the future to plan for. This is what the conference will be about: A post Covid future.
We do have the Cabinet decision confirming that RSE scheme is to remain in place. We now need to build on this decision. So this is a very important conference and as it is not open to the media or public, a chance for us to do some serious planning for the future. The Government will be well represented at the conference, we have invited Ministers Sepuloni and Faafoi and we will see if Minister O’Connor is available.
The main topics to be discussed are (in no particular order):
- Discussions with the Ministers
- Lessons from MIQ
- The future of RSE: the Government Perspective
- Future options and returning to near normal: the industry perspective
- Immigration policy update
- RSE Policy Review
- Workforce Development Plans
- Immigration operational issues
- MSD update
- RSE employers’ forum
- Academic corner with the Bedfords
If there is a topic or issue you want covered that is not listed here – please contact firstname.lastname@example.org as the conference agenda has not been finalised.
The Rutherford Hotel is offering rooms to delegates at $195 p/n. To make a booking, please email the hotel directly and state you are with the RSE conference: Georgia Dickson, Reservations@rutherfordhotel.co.nz. The hotel is not holding any rooms so bookings are subject to availability.
